People with diabetes are much more likely to suffer serious foot problems. Medications, illness and day to day wear and tear can affect your skin condition. Our comprehensive diabetic foot assessment will provide you with information about your current foot health. After your assessment, you will be provided with the written results of our findings. In order for you to maintain healthy feet and prevent future problems, Diabetes UK recommend that you have regular Diabetic Foot Assessments.
Your Diabetic Foot Assessment includes :
- An assessment of your 4 foot pulses using a Doppler. This provides us with an accurate understanding of the current condition of the blood supply to your feet. - A pain free nerve assessment to assess how well you can feel fine touch on the skin of your feet. - An assessment of the moisture level of your skin, using a sensor. This allows us to accurately monitor your skin condition and provide personalised advice about suitable treatments. - An assessment of the overall nail & skin condition of your feet. This allows us to identify potential problem areas for that may require treatment. The findings of our assessment will help us to determine your risk level for developing future foot problems.
